I was used to pushing the mouse wheel to the side with the MX2 to scroll and while I got used to it, I never found it that comfortable (I prefer the Magic Mouse's utility there). Now, you hold one of the side buttons and scroll the wheel to move laterally. A lot of other reviews have called out the lack of side scroll on the wheel and it is absolutely an adjustment from the previous models. I don't know that it functionally improves anything, but I like the ribbed feel, perhaps because it's different. The side areas where your thumb and pinky naturally rest are ribbed, not obnoxiously so but it's a different feel than the MX2. I do not have a job where I need the advertised pixel level scroll, but if you are I'm sure you'll be satisfied. In short, it does! The Magwheel is a game-changer, it feels effortless to scroll with it and ratchet and free-wheeling scroll modes are both useful. So, after purchasing the MX Anywhere 3 I was a little dubious whether it would supplant the MX 2. The MX Anywhere 2 got the call to come back because of its superiority in tracking on all surfaces. I bought an Apple Magic Mouse about 2 years ago but soured on it primarily because its ability to track on glass surfaces was terrible.
Logitech mx master 2s sleep mac#
I am a Mac user, saw this mouse and bought it not out of a necessity but out of curiosity. I own a MX Anywhere 2 that has been a workhorse, absolute stalwart of a mouse, for 5 years.

The force required for click to register also feels a little higher than the MX Master 3. You can't change the direction of the horizontal scroll with Logitech Options. It actually feels slightly better than the MX Master 3's wheel. You can change what the scroll force feels like (the non hyper scroll version), and you can change the sensitivity before it shifts to hyper scroll. The scroll is great and highly customizable. The heavy weight of the MX Master 3 made it difficult to do that. I typically have to lift up my mouse a lot in daily usage because my mouse area is limited. Very light, easy to pick up and shift it's position while using.
Just takes a sec to get used to, coming from the MX Master 3. There's no horizontal scroll wheel, but you can still hold down either one of the side buttons and scroll the main scroll wheel to go horizontally. You can also have per app customizations.
Logitech mx master 2s sleep software#
The Logitech Options software is pretty good and you can customize what the two side buttons and the two middle buttons do. This mouse fits me much better and I don't need a wrist rest for it. I have very small hands and I was using the Logitech MX Master 3 before this, and without a thick wrist rest my fingers almost didn't reach the click buttons.
